Our Story
Connected Learner was created for curious kids with an interest in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). Connected Learner brings kids together in after-school and summer learning programs through creative, collaborative, and hands-on learning labs. Virtual Discovery Labs™ are designed to teach kids critical thinking skills while having fun.
Our Team
STEAM is an integral part of our lives, the way we think and how we approach problem solving. We share this mindset as we support kids exploring their passions through camp and discovery labs.
Jodi, Founder and Chief Connector, is an entrepreneurial STEM educator dedicated to enriching student learning. She founded Connected Learner in 2014 as a way to provide fun, experiential opportunities for students living on the seacoast of NH. Her experience in STEM education spans over 25 years.
Christine, our Brand Marketing Connector is a creative strategist for corporations and a former Adjunct Professor of Design. As a Connected Instructor, she will connect kids with STEAM thinking through art and design projects.
Marcia - Connector of Operations, will be there for families who need any assistance. She loves discovering and learning alongside her children and is always willing to take on any DIY project.
Rob, is a Connected Instructor with over 25 years of experience as a high school biology teacher and College Board Exam Leader. He is passionate about ecology, specifically Introduced Specie and is a veteran distance coach and avid runner.
Ali, our Connected Instructor, loves art, books and the outdoors. She sees the positive impact of Discovery Labs on kids of all ages and all backgrounds. As a bilingual instructor, she supports both Spanish and English speaking students in her STEAM labs.
Joe has worked in the field of hospitality throughout Maine, New Hampshire, New York and Florida. As a culinary enthusiast, he has honed his skills at many dining establishments during that time. In his labs, he hopes to pass along techniques, DIY knowledge and insights that can be used right in your own home!
Tyler, our Connected Instructor, is a biologist-turned-educator, with experience teaching both science and mathematics to students in grades 5 through 8. He always tries to inspire a love for learning in his students through engaging and hands-on experiences.
Ranjana, a lab assistant, loves abstract painting and experimenting in biology. Ranjana will support students as they explore their creative passions.
Mac is a lab assistant and student at Notre Dame. He has a passion for math and is a big fan of the Mean Value Theorem. He will be assisting kids in the discovery labs.
Matthew, a lab assistant who is skilled in creating and drawing in 3D, will be on hand to help kids on their projects.
Grace, a lab assistant, loves chemistry and math. She is studying nursing at Fairfield University and will be helping kids with their discovery lab projects.
Andrew is a lab assistant who likes to fly drones and explore the field of engineering in his spare time. He will be helping kids work on their STEAM projects.
Navin, a lab assistant, enjoys drawing comic strips and is interested in healthcare and medicine. He will be working with kids in the discovery labs.
